DSL has about 35,000 cutomers.

I recently half heard a news story that said that Useless Worst had 30,000 DSL subscribers, representing 40% of the US market. This implies 75,000 subscribers nationwide.

re: DSL has about 35,000 cutomers.

Here's a prediction: 10 years from now, phone lines will be being ripped up all over the world, because the copper will be worth something (Intel will be buying it by the container-load for their chips). Satellite will kill wireless, and cable will kill phone lines. And something noone is now talking about will be threatening to kill cable. Maybe a flexible, cheap, and easy to install fiber-optic cable.

Thx for advice. I might just get cable. The reason why I have frame relay right now is because company pays for it. If I get cable or xDSL, then I pay for it. Anyway, we'll see.

My understanding is that cable modem is superior technology over DSL; however, in Dallas, TCI Cable breaks down frequently--just about everytime we get lots of rain. By contrast, Southwestern Bell telephone lines don't break down. Since I would purchase the service for home and basic internet usage, I am not sure I would need the superior attributes and think, at this point in time, that I would sacrifice superiority for reliability.

Your thoughts or anyone else's would be welcome.
