OT:
"the limitations on interstellar travel are imposed by the laws of nature. no matter how far advanced a civilization may be technologically, the laws of nature are immutable."

Which is to say that:
1) Max velocity of a space craft is the speed of light in a vacuum. {Planck circ 1923}
2) EVERY elctro-dynamic effect has a gravitational effect. {Hermann Weyl 1920)
3) Black holes exist, maybe wormhole do too {Hawkings, 1989}

So maybe, a controlled E-M dynamic field can create a static gravitational field. And if it can, then FAST multi-g's space travel is possible. Hitting atomic particles in space can be mitigated by many technologies now. Hitting the larger particles, may be handled in the future. To travel from here, 2.5Billion light years away only requires a flywheel style wormhole of a few feet.

PS: if it's possible to get from here to there, then you have to assume that they got from there to here. And may still be here.

PPS: I've been here 35 years!
PPSS: Science has not had anything new added since 1921 {relativity} All else is only refinments. Even quantum mechanics is just a slightly diverse form.

**OT** Yogi, the limitations on interstellar travel are imposed by the laws of nature.

hb,
first off let me say that I really appreciate the time energy and most important, perspective, that you contribute to this thread. Americans can be arrogant and develop severe tunnel vision when left on their own . < ggg>

re. the laws of nature; just as in the market I think the laws of nature we understand are also a product of tunnel vision. for some time common sense has said the market needs to correct, but carries on defying what we think are the laws of supply and demand.
If a man can bend a spoon with his mind, or a Mexican Indian can astral project, a Tibetan Monk meditate for 40 days without food and water, or a Man can be raised from death on the cross, are not the great scientific minds of our time also subject to a little tunnel vision regarding the laws of nature.
James Whitfield in his book, " The Treasure of Eldorado", had a great explanation of inter-stellar travel, that defies all laws of nature as we perceive them. I have seen them too, and the explanation is handy. :}

So I will keep an open mind, as I keep trying to do with this market. Please keep posting your thoughts. Many here are appreciative.

***OT***
Heinz,
I just think we should keep in mind that WE DO NOT YET KNOW all of the "laws of nature" yet, as we are still a very immature civilization relatively speaking, and others out there have most probably discovered ways around the "laws" that we are fully or perhaps not so fully aware of now. That's what an extra few thousand years of scientific advancement will do for a culture. Yogi
