In working on Next week's earnings plays I've come across some more 'firsts'.

1)There are a lot more stocks that were already upgraded before earnings. That is a bullish indication and the first time in 12 quarters of doing this that there are so many.

2) There are more retailers now, but we will play them differently. We won't be getting in because they had 6 great quarters, we will get in ONLY if they show clear anticipation on technical charts. The companies are mostly all 'fundamentally strong' Can you honestly give a logical reason why ANF was down and FD was up today? At least this time I didn't hold. They both beat estimates neither of them was that overbought. I'm sure if I read all the financial data, looked over the charts with an electron microscope I'd find the difference. I tend to think it was that everyone was 'expecting' the 'golden ANF' to beat whereas FD, although a great company, is not a 'golden stock'
These are 'better" ones than the 4 we had before (i.e. more like FOSL than ANF). I trust we can find a couple of good ones from this group.

3)More than a handful are already in positive reversals and are technically in 'buy' territory (i.e. they had short term breakouts in the last 24-48 hours) and have great charts.

4) A few have lower earnings estimates, have even been downgraded, but were already 'punished' and the stock should actually move up just out of sheer cry for 'mercy'.
