rrman,

You'd be amazed what the US military does EACH AND EVERY DAY to help average people around the world.

From assisting in providing logistical and transportation support for humanitarian aid missions domestically and internationally, to providing MEDRETE (Medical Readiness and Training Exercise, if I remember correctly) where medics and doctors would give free medical check-ups to needy families (again domestically and internationally).

These missions help the needy while providing quality training for the troops so it was a win/win situation.

You need to look some more. Your eyes might just be opened a bit.

As for the US meddling in another countries affairs, you can't ignore the facts in that ALL COUNTRIES do it.

Some of them just get caught, while others don't even try to hide it. Besides, no one forced the Honduran gov't to accept US troops. And those US troops who were stationed there were forced to remain in their perimeters and not permitted to venture to the neighboring towns (safety of the troops they were told). I knew some people who participated in "Operation Golden Pheasant" (I actually almost got involved in it).

They HATED EVERY MOMENT they were stationed there.

Regards,

Ron
