Walter,

How can Microsoft wait when the stakes are so high? They've waited long enough. JMHO.

How about if they called it MicroOSFT...(for travel)...
that way the poor confused consumer could transpose subconsciously and make a connection and the clerk could explain that it is for portable systems, and everyone would be happy.
There are people, young and old, that haven't even heard of MP3, but I would imagine with the exposure that EDIG has gotten, well over 100,000 have heard or seen e.Digital or MicroOS by now. With a large marketing campaign, that could be parlayed into millions of consumers, easily. I was at Comdex when Intel unleashed Intel Inside upon the world, quite a show. The mass consumer at that time had no idea what was inside that box they were buying. The recognition campaign was of course a success. The same could be done with MicroOS..MicroOS Within..for instance..however, that would be unlikely to happen. More like EPAC, Lucent, or TI within. But you never know.
Best, Savant

There certainly is no rush to use MicroOS

Walter,

You surprise me...

With all your hard work & study, you have failed to recognize just what part EDIG's MicroOS plays (no punn intended) and just how valuable it really is!

EDIG's MicroOS is the KEY to EDIG's ability to design a music player, video player, Audio player, or all of the above VERY QUICKLY.

That's why IBM, Lucent, etc. want to use it!

In my opinion, if Microsoft wanted to develop a player, they would be many man hours ahead to use EDIG's MicroOS.

It will be completely transparent to the consumer...

I'll bet there are super drivers, bells, & whistles in your computer right now that you are not aware of that do a fantastic job and the Companies that developed them are getting paid.
You & I don't care how they got there... As long as it WORKS!

By using the MicroOS (the guts), a given player that currently plays MP3, EPAC, or xxxac could be changed MORE EASILY to add MP99 to the list.

The MicroOS will play a very important part in the SDMI program.
