Glad you mentioned 'the board' as this too has bothered me for some time as well. At ATU the board of directors IS the company management (CO,COO, IME exec and one 'sympathetic' outsider. The boards of several companies I have looked at are larger and management has only one or two representatives. This helps to assure shareholders that their best interests are being served. I guess with ATU if things are not progressing satisfactorily they "must give themselves shit". I thought that having Thal on the board last year was a step in the right direction but can only assume that all those 3-1 votes would lead to total frustration and finally resignation (replaced by another employee). At least now the votes will be a shutout! As you say, if the stock price had shown any strength we wouldn't be so pi---- off now but we have seen nothing concrete for a full year, just a bunch of 'promising looking deals'. The captain has the ball in his court, we'll have to see if can dribble it down the floor and score.
