rudedog--- "plans to take out a whole layer of management, probably several layers in some
organizations. "

Every organization or dept that does not see change or "new blood" once in awhile gets fat and needs slimmed down at times. That is one of the things I have been looking and hoping for--- my forte.

You also stated "The current turmoil is less confusing than the last 6 months of EP's tenure, at least to me.
While I agree that CPQ will not be "safe" until more of the new program gets
implemented, I also think that the stock will be in the 30's by that time."

What is your GUESS to that time frame? Rosen is moving quickly IMO for the size of the organization. It is evident he is not a chairman that is/was along for the prestiege and ride. Elimination of employees... esp expensive managers helps the bottom line quickly. The new distribution system should also shave costs but possibly very little THIS qtr. Are there any indications DELL is not eating our mkt share in PC sales or indications this qtr will go very well? I wish he would give some direction soon...

Thanks for your input

Rudedog, Those departing the company all sold stock in February except Pfeiffer. By my rough count Mason 25M, Heil 4.2M and Rando 3.3M (+36M in Nov 98). Data from Insider Trades. Does a good company man keep his shares? I have nothing against someone selling his shares, however large sales in February seem to reflect poor timing. Interesting there were no sales after February reported. Who is next?
