we're looking at the number four, not the term 4 No, you're looking at the quantity four. The mathematical number four is just a word which is defined in a certain mathematical way. In the base 3 number system, there is no such number, and the definition is meaningless. There is a quantity which is called 11 in base 3 and 4 in base 10, but in base 3 mathematics there simply is no such thing as the number or the term 4. It simply doesn't exist. And I still contend that I completely met the challenge put forward by Chuzz.
