Micron Tech CEO Steve Appleton on Rubin's Resignation: Comment

Boise, May 12 (Bloomberg) - Micron Technology Inc. Chief Executive Steve Appleton comments on the resignation of U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and the appointment of Deputy Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers to the post: ''Rubin and Summers have been pretty consistent in their dealings,'' said Appleton, who has met both men. Micron, the largest U.S. maker of computer memory chips, is most concerned about trade issues and the economic troubles in Asia, where many competitors are based. ''Mr. Summers is very aware of the issues Micron has had with trade. We have been opposed to any kind of financial assistance without reform. We would like reform to take place and companies to react to market principles without over-building or over-investment,'' Appleton said. ''I don't expect any big changes.''
