Hi Guys, quiet board over here. I posted this on RB thread:

Interesting article in May 17,1999 'Forbes' pg 164, by Silvia Sansoni titled "Hot Stuff. Young entrepreneur, Cormac Kinney, developed software program that " takes scads of financial data on a trader's computer screen and turns it in real time into "heat maps," luminous mosaics of red and blue squares, each representing a security." Red square means price down, blue price up, also relates to changes in volatility, volume earnings ar any combo of these. "With a heat map, a buying or selling opportunity jumps out..." Other whistles and bells included.

This guy gets big outfits to use his product by befriending worker bees in the company and then getting them to recommend/demand product to superiors. He usually gets the boot if he tries to start at the top.

I found the article interesting for two reasons. First, Kinney has found a way to effectively market his product to a skeptical clientele. Second, his product, once past the skeptics, is enthusiastically embraced despite the 'fact', in my opinion, that the product (company is 'Neo Vision) is a real 'lightweight' compared to that offered by QTTK!

I don't have a direct link to the article; in fact I don't know if its on line. However Forbes web site is:

forbes.com

The issue is May,17,1999.

We're in a great company at an early stage IMHO.

My broker had an extensive converstion with Mr. Beck this AM. Very positive and open/informative. A new "great, great" law firm has been hired to fascilitate 'rampup'. Much effort being put into reporting work--hope to be completed in summer. A number of institutions are looking closely to see how ramp up goes (Beck says qttk will be up and running hopefully by mid July but no later than August.) A private investor who already is invested in the company has made $3,000,000 available for further development, company only has needed 1/3 of this and running a very tight ship to keep a lid on expenses and avoid dilution of very valuable shares. They also sold 100,000 shares awhile back at $2 for operating capital. Qttk has also an 800,000 loan that is completely forgivable if the share price hits $50 or more in three years. In other words, no problem with financing to move forward with business plan (a critically important positive factor IMO.) Also said a number of institutions looking very closely and waiting to see how initial ramp up in summer goes. Indicated they'd probably jump in in a big way at $10 share price. In discussion seriously with one particular institution at this time but couldn't name or give details.

All-in-all I'm in long term and trying to find more cash to buy at current level. Small float and lack of investor awareness makes it difficult to peg a current price but no matter in the long run IMO. I expect summer to get VERY INTERESTING!

Best to all,
patwrk
