reviews of computer products might help spur the dst business. i recently read an article discussing backup media in pc magazine. it mentioned mostly lower end backup solutions (from 20GB to either 70GB or 100GB [and one 200GB vaporware]). The most expensive drive was $8000.

Ampex Data Systems might submit a dst to magazines for review. if they sent one to pc mag they would certainly get a mention in first looks. they might end up with a feature article in the network section.

it might be overly expensive advertising, but can they afford to be invisible? after all until i saw that coach leather bought one, i would never have thought of them as a potential customer. there have to be hundreds of potential customers that are struggling to get their backups done with inferior technology.

there are a lot of ways to get the word out. a lot of nerds read magazines, and they (nerds not magazines) do talk to one another.
