Steven, glad your portfolio is so happy today. . . I said earlier that I have a feeling about PARA getting more attention tomorrow. . .even tho news is getting old. I don't have much to go on, just that little tingling sensation I get now and then on stocks I think are about to make a move. Do I buy on this tingling sensation?? <said mostly tongue in cheek> YOU BET I DO. . .<said with a totally straight face> Hope you had a great and equitable time in the Big Apple. Sorry I can't tell you when to sell. . .I usually do when I stand to do a dance. . . that is a sure fire sell signal. LOL. . . there are probably some new folks here that think I must be out of my gourd. . . rest assured. . .I do DD. . .I read the Edgars. . I study the financials with a calculator. . .I study the historical movements of the stock and the history of the company. . .I often call the company. . or more importantly, discuss the company with the employees. . . I sometimes visit the companies. . . I study the competition. . .I research the industry. . .I perform my own comparative analysis. . .then I walk away and keep it in the back of my mind for a while. . . the great companies keep coming back, the not so great ones get forgotten. . . but the REAL method for picking great stocks. . . is intuition. . .sometimes in dreams. . .sometimes just a vision of the future. . .sometimes just a feeling. It might not sound scientific, but I doubt there is a computer around that can take in such varied data and spit out a qualitative evaluation. Rande Is
