No..just got burned with HD once.. I saw TAGS and ANF.. and sometimes when everyone expects the stock to beat you can have a 'disappointment' SPLS is a great pick and stock, far be it for me to dare and knock it, but last quarter it took over 3 weeks to get a profit out of it because it was either extended or 'expected'.. You can easily check by placing ' SPLS" in the silicon Investor 'search engine' no doubt you will see my 'buy' of SPLS and my groans afterward. Ultimately it was up, but it was still disappointing so instead of SPLS I would have had OMX or IKON or something like that.

When you get burned you usually learn one or two things! I never told you I once bought SUIT it was up 5.. nice right? I went to lunch without a stop and I swear I came back it was down those same 5 points about 2 hours later. It's not that easy. SUIT moves up and down like lightening. So what did i learn, well that I sell as quick as I can into strength (after the report). Ever so often a stock that gaps up 3-5 in the morning can be even higher a few hours later. By practice you get a feel for those that move even higher (i.e. the nets, QLGC, CDWC, MACR).. (that's what I mean when I say 'repeater'.. QLGC has that same great pattern for the last 3 seasons, and CDWC for at least two the ones that gap and and go flat usually do it the next time as well.

I've seen it with PER today, just as a small example. I could have gotten an extra point easy if I had just sold immediately, I waited about 10 minutes or maybe more and it was down 3/4 and then even more. By the time I had completed the sale, I lost about 50% of the day's gain. I was mad so I got back in and worked it back up but it was not the same. Morale: either sell quickly the day of the gap up or don't hold the darn thing when its up 5 points. I was not sure that earnings would be out that morning or I would have sold PER the night before.
