Three hours of Squawk Box? Hasn't the BS level already exceeded reasonable (high side) limits? Is new content in the works, or will the current BS just be stretched? Squawk Box was great when they were unknown and hungry. They are behaving more and more as if they are well-paid (as in not hungry).

Can you say blow-off to the upside? Can you say over-exposed? Can you say 14th minute of fame? What's next? A season finale? "Who shot Joe Kernan?" [That was a suggestion for the soap opera plot such as might be found on a show such as "Dallas" - not a sentiment of hate. Don't send the FBI, nothing violent intended beyond what I consider my sense of humor.]

On the other hand, if you devote the hour to Maria: that would be great. She provides more trade-able info per minute than the rest of the crew put together.

And what about Tom (? - the guy who used to be in London) and the attractive woman who used to report from Asia. They do a very competent job relatively devoid of ego. The fact I can't think of her name offhand but respect her work I consider a positive. To replace that quality with more random golf musings would be a shame.

Don't get me wrong. In general, I think Joe is OK. Sometimes he needs some deflating. I thought marriage would help. Perhaps some 3am feedings...

Try a 15-second BS clock. Like the NBA shot clock? I am gonna hafta get a dish so I can try Fox and Cnnfn rather than watch more SquawkBS. (My cable company has also strung fiber and not done anything with it. And advertised as immediately available services they cannot yet provide.)

Of course, this is all probably driven by ad-revenue $/minute rates. What happens to price when you schedule the ad that doesn't sell?

Good luck.
