Reel.com, Hollywood Entertainment Announce Agreement With America Online Surrounding Release of 'You've Got Mail' On VHS and DVD

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 1999--Hollywood
Entertainment (Nasdaq:HLYW), owner of Reel.com, the leading online
movie store, and operator of Hollywood Video, the second largest video
store chain in the United States, today announced a marketing
agreement with America Online surrounding the VHS and DVD release of
the movie "You've Got Mail."

In conjunction with the release on VHS and DVD of the movie,
which stars Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, Hollywood Entertainment will
distribute a collectible AOL starter CD-ROM featuring artwork from
this hit movie in its 1,336 Hollywood Video stores nationwide.

AOL will also be promoted on the Reel.com online movie Website,
reel.com. Simultaneously, Reel.com (AOL Keyword: Reel) will
promote a variety of special offers, including the "You've Got Mail"
movie on VHS and DVD plus a free CD of the movie's soundtrack for the
very low price of $19.99, to AOL's more than 17 million members.

very pleased to extend our relationship with them and increase our
presence throughout their online network," said Jeff Jordan, president
of Reel.com. "We believe that both current and prospective AOL members

The starter CD-ROM contains the software needed to sign up for
America Online.
