LOL! You stole the words right out of my mouth! :)

Your application will probably suffer speed-wise if you use VB. VB is probably more suitable for applications that don't have to deal with a lot of data, or don't have to deal with data very quickly. (e.g. I wouldn't attempt tick charts in VB.)

VC++ has a STEEP learning curve. Years.

Thanks for the comments. TAL doesn't have the ability to "plug into" the RealTick III framework either. (I'm not sure I'd want to feed data to their charts, but I sure would like to put my window inside of their frame.) They WERE working on a new OCX architecture that is supposed to eventually permit that, though.

I'm impressed by the number of third-party apps available for QFeed, which is why it piqued my interest. TAL is getting a lot of use by day-trading firms, but I haven't seen a lot of interest on the part of third-party software vendors.

Dan, Thanks for such a full answer on VB vs C++. That helped out a lot.

Nicholas,

best advice for you would be to master the tools you have first. VB is not going to give you the gold either. quit being in a such a hurry and take some time and study TA...
