I tend to agree with you. If USAB wants to become the premiere online bank, as they have stated, they will either need to spend a great deal on advertising, or invent some new way of succeeding that no other internet company has found. So far, the only way to create brand awareness has been to spend huge amounts of money on advertising and technology.

How about a single site, a sharp site, that has online trading, online banking, e-commerce links/partnerships, and lending services? Think that could help?

The "partnership" with DCLK was actually descrbied as an "initiative". I think that means that DCLK gave them some prices and they "intend" to do some business with DCLK. Means relatively nothing until you start to see some ads. And that isn't going to happen until they have an actual product. Not to mention, I have heard DCLK is one of the worst marketers in the business. They are allegedly extremely disorganized and have a tendancy to do some really stupid stuff. I went to a website a few days ago and at the top of the site, the owners of the company made a joke about how the IRS had shut their company down and then said they were just kidding about that. The reason that their site was out of commission for a few days was because of something stupid that DCLK, (their ad firm) had done. I wish I could remember where what that site was. It was something in the biotech feild. USAB doesn't seem to have the money or resources for all that they claim they want to do. I think that is one of the main reasons that the website is not functional. I could be wrong.
