Cable and xDSL: From the best I have been able to learn, the discussion of cable vs xDSL suffers from not enough real time experience with the best of each. In the real world, the RBOC's have been slower than molasses running up hill in January in making even the most rudimentary xDSL available while TCI and most other cable operators have cable lines that clink and clunk. So how do we know? Seems to this observer that George is right in terms of the general advantages of both when they are up and running with good equipment and improved access lines. But others here (such as you Frank) have much more knowledge about the actual technologies and their limitations. I for one have used cable and am very pleased, but would use xDSL, or more likely satellite when up to speed, if cable not available. Just IMO. Chaz
