the fact that ibm is out of the dram business

According to the WSJ, it doesn't sound at all like an established fact:

As part of IBM's steady shift to more profitable business lines, Mr. Gerstner suggested that IBM might exit the market for DRAM memory chips sometime in the next few years. The market for DRAM, or dynamic random access memory, chips has been facing considerable pricing pressure in recent years.

Fred Hager posted yesterday ( in case you are not a member ) that MS Elderstone was to make comments on Rambus this A.M.. I've written back to Fred to see what the story is & will let you know unless you already got the scope.
