AMFM beat and was upgraded, GMST beats the street by 2 after the close.

AMFM, nice earnings report and upgraded the same day. This is the scenario we like to see played out. If we are lucky the upgrade will add some more profit gain AFTER the report to the anticipation BEFORE the report. And then of course here's where the intermediate hold comes in. I use the word "intermediate" loosely because these stocks accelerate more quickly than others and you can be in and out twice in the span of 3 or 4 weeks and profit as if you were in for months.

Gemstar International Group Ltd. Reports Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year
99 Financial Results

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1999--Gemstar International Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:GMST - news) reported its results of operations for the
fourth quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 1999.

Revenues for the fourth quarter were $54 million. Operating income was $35.2 million. Net income was $26.7 million. Diluted earnings per share were $0.46 based
on 57.4 million shares. Compared with the same quarter in fiscal year 1998, revenues increased 26%, operating income increased 37%, net income increased 37%
and diluted earnings per share increased 24% despite an increase in share count of 8%.

Revenues for the fiscal year ended March 31, 1999, were $166.5 million. Operating income was $95.4 million. Net income was $73.9 million. Diluted earnings per
share were $1.31 based on 56.2 million shares.
