I have a general filter that is not much along party-type lines. It is an unusual enough dimension to have use. Simply, it divides folk into those with ideals which are real and important in their lives, called holy rollers, from those more reality based. Those who are reality based I see in two groups, the leaders and the trash. [The names are exaggerated to remind that they are grossly approximate to the groups.] The trash are fully intent on getting along, and distrust those with fervent ideals. One reason for the distrust is the rollers disdain and exclude them. Another reason is the leaders mouth the ideals, but are much like the trash. Mouthing the rules allows them to enlist the rollers for free, where they have to, quietly, pay for the trash's support. Now, Clinton is perhaps the first nearly true trash ever elected president. The rollers and the leaders unconsciously react to him with horror. When I look at the things he has done, as caretaker president, unable to get his own policies passed, I do not see them equating to the constant, petty, and wild accusations. he gets. Many are in the style category, as in how he accepts the responsibility he accepts. At the scary end is Chinese money and US secrets. Trash don't think twice of payola, but few are as expedient as treason. I am not saying don't pursue a full investigation; I am saying they are not linked activities in the mind of trash, as they are linked in the mind of rollers. He needs watched, because he has the inclination to take advantage. One is more likely to get this secret 'stuff', like Iran-Contra, or Gulf of Tonkin from a roller/leader. They have an agenda that knows few bounds. A trash will give ya' what you see and be hard pressed to make it appear different. Just as Clinton is the first real trash, Carter was the first [or most purely] roller. Recall his reception. The hypocracy of political life, as opposed to C.'s crude ways, does not come from these two groups, it comes from the leader people. I add, that this filter is not about goodness. There will always be all three kinds, and the approach to life does not determine how strong, kind, talented they are.
