Peter, correct me if I'm wrong but Novell does still have 3 user versions of evaluation NetWare that is not time-bombed. Just call your local Novell rep. and they will get you one or more copies of it. The other thing you should consider is to join Novell's DevelopNet so that much of this will come to you automatically. If you do not have a local rep then call Novell's CRC (Customer Response Center) and they will get you going as well.

There is a ton of new and exciting Novell development products that software developers can now work with. The latest that I found exciting is the IBM WebSphere integration that will run on NetWare5 servers. But that is just one of many new exciting software developer initiatives with Novell.

Hope that helps.

Hello Peter!

Novell is working to create better relationships with developers and the first place I'd point to is Novell's DeveloperNet (http://developer.novell.com).

They have downloadable trial version of software, SDKs and more available for Developer's to use. There is a FREE electronic access (meaning you can peruse the site) but for the real stuff, you (or your organization) will need to pay up.

DeveloperNet also provides you with source code, tips&tricks, sample code and more -- developer.novell.com

I also know that you can now develop for Netware using VB, XML, C/C++, Java and ActiveX. Novell has made it easier for developers to port their software to work in a Netware environment.
