***OT*** Memo to Dan Niles
Subject: How to get those nasty "###########'s" out of your Excel spreadsheets.

Dan, I noticed some of your numbers in today's IBM report came out "#######'s". For example, I'm assuming that IBM did not actually report Hardware revenues of "########" for FY98. Then again, being such a devoted follower of your work, I am aware that getting historical actuals for specific line items accurate has been somewhat problematic for you.

Here's a quick tip people who use Excel on a regular basis have found a useful remedy to the "#######" problem.

Go to the top of the column and adjust the column width. You can do this manually or automatically by double clicking.

Several popular books are available providing a wealth of how-to tips for people like yourself.

In your case, I recommend "Excel for Dummies".
