"ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Miracom Corporation
(OTC Bulletin Board: MIRM), a provider of Internet-based business and on-line
buying solutions and the holding company for parts.com(TM), an e-commerce
shopping site for the sale of auto parts, today announced it has acquired an
8,000 square foot building in Sanford, Florida to accommodate the Company's
rapid expansion. The Company currently leases a 3,400 square foot facility in
Altamonte Springs, Florida and expects to terminate the lease immediately
prior to the move which is expected to occur in July 1999. The Company's new
address will be: Miracom Corporation
121 East First Street
Sanford, Florida 32771
"The upcoming launch of parts.com could very quickly transform the company
into the world's largest online parts store. This move will prepare the
company for our expected rapid expansion in e-commerce, real time data
services and insurance software," said Shawn Lucas, Chairman and Co-CEO of
Miracom Corporation. "The move will more than double our current operating
space and provide us with the necessary room to add additional personnel to
support our current projects which are nearing fruition.
"The move to Sanford's historic district will not only allow us to own the
necessary square feet to expand but allow us to do so without paying the high
rent Sanford district prices. We were able to purchase the building and
related parking facility for far less than we could have leased comparable
facilities in an attractive historic urban market," concluded Mr. Lucas.
Growing Sanford Business District
In addition to being listed on the Federal schedule of historic buildings,
the new corporate headquarters will be strategically located in the center of
Sanford near a proposed hotel and convention center site and within close
proximity to a number of cultural and recreational amenities, including the
Seminole Towne Center, a 1.1 million square foot mall, Lake Monroe and St.
Johns River. The city houses the expanding Orlando International Sanford
Airport and is headquarters to a number of prominent companies, including the
American Automobile Association (AAA), Siemens Stromberg-Carlson and Sunniland
Corporation.
Sanford is the number one developing urban center between Orlando and
Daytona Beach and among the fastest growing cites in Florida. The success of
the region in recent years is attributed to overall economics growth in
Sanford coupled with significant improvements in the city's infrastructure.
Miracom Corporation is a provider of Internet-based business and on-line
buying solutions. The Company is currently developing parts.com(TM), an
e-commerce shopping and business to business solution that is geared to
revolutionize the parts industry. The launch of parts.com is expected to
occur in the third quarter of 1999. Miracom has also created and developed
web-enabled products such as Miratouch(TM), a proprietary system for the
provision of on-line research and real-time data gathering services;
Epolicy(TM), a web-enabled back-end software for insurance companies;
QuickQuote 2000(TM), the front end compliment to Epolicy(TM), a web-enabled
insurance quoting solution.
