I'm not confusing anything - I've already stated the difference between SDL's modules and UNPH's chips. I give kudos to SDL for this lead. UNPH is in the process of generating the same modules. And I do understand that SDL's grating stabilization technology is very good. But again, its still in one product!

980 pumps will not be around forever! There are already roadmaps to semiconductor amplifiers and raman amplifiers. I'm sure SDL is aware of this and conducting research as we speak. But they need to ramp additional active components to sizable market shares and add passive components to their offerings to even begin to resemble the broad solution supplier that vendors will want as we enter the photonics age!

Hey Pat

SDL Inc. (SDLI) 125 1/4 +2 1/4: Gruntal & Co. reiterates "buy" rating on designer and manufacturer of fiber optic-related products, lasers and optoelectronic based systems; has a 12-month price target of $141.....

Not bad for a one product company. I am not sure why you have been appointed defender of the empire, but you sure show a lot of patience <vbg>.

Cheers
Frank
