Ask any cop, and he or she will tell you that one on the great wastes of time in traffic stops and general police work is identifying detainees who don't carry identification. Finger printing works, but can't be used in the field. A database with scanned retinal images on one end of a wireless data-link to a MVIS retinal scanner would greatly speed the process and improve accuracy. I wouldn't be surprised if the RS couldn't be used as a non evasive screener for drug use or intoxication of suspect drivers. Every police car in the country may have a MVIS scanner in 10 years!
