Paul V, RE "Tito, looks like your Construction workers are finally working." A Habit once formed is hard to undo. In a Bull Market when Winter changes to Spring, the Market especially in HiTech catches a cold. One reason is that many Investors are accustomed to the ritual of Self-Flagellation or Scaring themselves out of the Market about the Lenten season... In the DRAM Boxing World, Investors Fear that AMAT & Company (that includes NVLS, LRCX, KLAC etc) will loss business because the Pugilists MU and another Asian boxer were hitting each other so hard that they are going to be incapacitated as a result. What they don't realize is the fact that other boxers could replace those out of the game; and those new boxers do not necessarily re-use the gloves, towels, spittoons, etc provided to the fallen warriors by AMAT & Company. (My Spy jokingly told me that the reason Fund Managers sold HiTech was because the Managers subconsciously wanted their Funds to earn Money Market rates --- then when they get Fired, will gladly join the the increasing ranks of successful Investors On-Line!...) The StairCase construction workers at 63 are convinced again that there is indeed Money to construct the Steps above the Landing at 71 5/8... The Riser Experts who were MoonLighting at the DOW 30 Ladder Construction Site are back;... and they are now busy convincing the Step Levelers (those workers who have degrees in P/E Analysis) to Up the Daily Lows to above 65 so they all can start the Upper Steps. The Market is again at a Good Mood as it awaits the earnings report of AMAT, the Leader of a Bunch whose Good prospects will confirm what the Market suspects as Good Times ahead... Did I not say before that NEWs is Good or Bad depending upon the present Mood or Sentiment of the Market? Otherwise Bad news of Rubin's resignation plus Yeltsin's firing of his Cabinet are Good News or Non-Events because of the Up-Beat Sentiment of the Market! Ahh ... Habits don't easily change...
