Crasy ... you have a problem that is very common ... market orders ard tough. Depending on the broker, the standard story is that they can take up to 7 minutes to fill (Discover told me they can take up to 12 minutes ...) Good luck. If you have time and sales, you have to determine how many minutes it took for the trade to fill. If it was an unreasonable amount of time ... 5 minutes or more, you may win!

Unless you are set up for EDAT directly into the exchanges, usually, an email type broker will hand you your head on a platter on a market order, if the stock is moving.

If you trade a lot, that $500 would have paid 2 months of online EDAT trading. A lot of us have moved to Watley, Instinet or Attain, for just such a reason.

Good luck with your trades, but limit orders are the only way to get a fill where you want it with that type of service.
