ACOC**** NEWS! This is an undiscovered company with a tiny tiny float, hence the spread. A little volume will push this one a long way. ARC COMMUNICATIONS ENHANCES NEW WEB SITE WITH FLASH TECHNOLOGY For Greater Graphics Flexibility TINTON FALLS, N.J., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Arc Communications, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ACOC ACOCP), a full-service marketing and new media design firm, today took the wraps off its new, high-impact corporate Web site completely developed with Flash technology from Macromedia. Arc (http://www.arcomm.com) becomes one of the few companies whose Web site is based entirely on Flash technology and Macromedia's Shockwave, the Web standard for entertaining, engaging, rich media playback. By using all Flash technology, visitors to Arc's site will see the same striking animation and sound features regardless of the Internet browsers they use or the modem speeds of their computers. "More and more, developers are beginning to appreciate the resolution- independent features of using Flash technology for bringing animation and rollovers to their Web sites," said Thom Rittenhouse, creative director at Arc. "A year from now Flash technology will be the benchmark for Web page development. We chose to incorporate Flash applications now not only to advertise our capabilities as an agency, but also to help shape how the rest of the industry will use it," Rittenhouse said. He added that Arc's Web site tests to determine if a visitor's browser has a Flash or Shockwave plug-in and automatically downloads one if none is detected. For a company that depends on fast-paced and eye-catching graphics, Flash technology gives Arc developers greater control over how they "push" their Web page graphics and other features onto different Internet browsers. As more software companies and Internet portals experiment with Flash technology, companies' Web sites will be less dependent on the graphics limitations of hardware and software used by visitors to their sites. Rittenhouse also likes the business benefits from using Flash technology. "Because it is easy to use and Web sites can be updated quickly, our graphic artists spend more time on client projects. It also frees them to be more creative and less focused on writing HTML code," he said. Arc also used the rollout of its new Web site to expand information on client services and provide links to other product offerings including Arc Education Services. Offered through the company's ArcMesa (http://www.arcmesa.com) unit, Arc Education Services provides courses for time-starved professionals in the medical community that can result in continuing medical education credits. The courses help doctors, dentists, nurses and other health professionals keep pace with advances in their disciplines, develop new competencies in allied disciplines, as well as strengthen their professional credentials. Arc Communications, Inc., with 1998 revenues of $2.8 million, is a pioneer in Internet marketing and interactive multi-media design. The company has designed and managed Web sites for such high-profile events as the Tostitos Fiesta Bowls and the Nokia Sugar Bowl. Earlier this year, the Sugar Bowl extended its relationship with Arc through the Year 2000 when it will host college football's national championship game.
