[May 10, 1999--TAIPEI] National Taiwan University (NTU) plans to establish a Chinese-language Internet television system for the
purpose of education and entertainment, according to the Government's Central News Agency (CNA).

NTU representatives told CNA that the programs on the medium, called Nedio TV, will be organized and managed by students
from universities and colleges throughout Taiwan.

Launching at the end of May, Nedio TV will open with a talk show program featuring discussions between university students and
national politicians.

The political guests of the program are scheduled to include the prominent candidates for Taiwan's 2000 presidential election - Vice
President Lien Chan, former Taipei mayor Chen Shui-bien, former provincial governor James Soong, and former DPP chairman Hsu
Hsin-lian.
