I agree with you. As for posting this on the IRID thread, it has since been posted. With the reality that the near term fate of Iridium has strong competitive and financial implications for Globalstar, i thought it would be valuable to post that Big Ed is dumping his stock within weeks of the deadline on the bank facility.

Globalstar has made a very nice move. Those who are watching the movement in TSATA (TCI Satellite) are coming to the conclusion that John Malone and his Liberty Media may look to take control (he already has it via a series B common) and utilize the NOL (over $400 million). Trouble is that it would only be useable in a satellite business. Speculation is rampant that he will buy the 10 percent of Loral owned by Lockheed Martin and dump it into TSATA, not disimilar to what he just did with TCI Music.

This is interesting only because John Malone is the most liquid media and communications infrastructure guy around (billions in cash, plus he has a currency in Liberty). Globalstar and potentially Loral will both need or benefit by additionl funding over the next 12 months. Malone may be their guy and his first $400 million in profits will escape Uncle Sam. Of course, this is all speculation, but if it is confirmed, it would be viewed as very good news for Globalstar. Malone loves a deal (bargain I meant).
