Numerous VIPs to Attend Kick-off Event

HERNDON, Va., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Sideware Corporation, a wholly-owned U.S.
subsidiary of Sideware Systems, Inc.®, will be based in Herndon, Virginia, adjacent to Washington
Dulles International Airport. The e-commerce leader cited the area's strong technology community as
an important factor in their decision to locate in the region.

Canadian-based Sideware Systems is a leading provider of Java-based e- commerce solutions for
mid-size and large organizations. The company has selected the Washington Metro Area as its U.S.
headquarters in order to capitalize on the high concentration of communications, computer, and
engineering professionals who have made the region one of the most technologically innovative areas
in the country.

The dedication of the headquarters of Sideware Corp. will be held at the Herndon facility on May
13th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and hosted by Jim Speros, Sideware Corp.'s president and COO.
Speros is a native of Potomac, Maryland and former owner of the Baltimore Stallions franchise of the
Canadian Football League. Speros began his career as an assistant coach with the Washington
Redskins in the mid-1980s. He is also a leader in the 5-year effort to bring major league baseball to
Northern Virginia. Also expected to attend the event are Rep. Tom Davis, a U.S. Congressman of
Northern Virginia; Don Upson, Secretary of Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia; and
Owen Jones, CEO of Sideware Systems.

Sideware Corp. is chartered with enhancing Sideware Systems' flagship e- commerce solution, Dr.
Bean; a pure-Java solution designed for high-traffic Web sites. Using Dr. Bean, e-commerce
Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) can take control of a customer's browser and lead them
through specific Web pages on a guided tour, or follow the customer through their own selections in
order to assess their purchasing interests. With a single mouse click, customers can ''chat'' live with a
CSR about pricing questions, product options, shipping information or any other issues.

''E-commerce has changed the business landscape forever by enabling 24x7 global operations,'' says
Speros, ''now Sideware is raising e-commerce to new heights by enabling personalized customer
service via the Internet.'' He also notes that CBS Watch called Dr. Bean ''the purest technology'' at
the Internet World '99 conference in Los Angeles.

''The promise of the connected world for businesses lies in the ability to cost-effectively provide
customers with the information they need, the way they want it, when they want it. Dr. Bean adds
unique capabilities to e- commerce sites that provide each customer with relevant, personalized
content for a more complete online shopping experience.''

Sideware Corporation's offices are located at 208 Elden Street, Suite 200 in Herndon, Virginia,
20170. Representatives from prominent Sideware customers, including IBM, Sun, and SAIC, will be
on hand during the kick-off event to demonstrate how their companies are using Dr. Bean to improve
their e-commerce sites today.
