I actually worked at Oracle before retiring/stock investing or whatever you want to call what I do right now lol! Great place to work, needless to say. The company has been very well positioned to use its enormous entrenched customer base and dominant position in the database sector to exploit emerging internet opportunities. Instead, it has treaded water. In this respect, I see some similarities to Microsoft, although the jury may still be out with the latter. Both companies IMO find themselves hampered in fully building an internet presence by their perceived (and understandable) need to protect their existing cash cow monopolies.
