Ron, as you might suspect, I tend toward the position of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile. But I want to be fair, and see what the other side has to say. I confess, it is hard to justify, when they are such different peoples, and the centuries of Chinese rule amounted to a loose suzerainty rather than real administration. Plus, the G-in-E is right to point out that under the prevailing revolutionary conditions, their expulsion of the Chinese should have been acceptable, and their existence as an independent nation for about 40 years should suffice as a claim to a return of sovereignty. But I don't want to offend our Chinese guest by not listening to the other side....
