Increases shareholder value. Anytime a well is successful and oil/gas are being produced then it is good. If the economics are poor the well is not finished.

It is my understanding that if/when Espirtu is drilled and "successful" then we should be looking at a different animal.

Not really following FPX too closely any more. They sadly have run out of cash and this game is not a lot of fun when you do that. It was very disheartening to hear that one of the wells that they had to back out on (and just take a small overriding royalty interest) would have doubled the company's reserves if they'd only had the cash to retain their working interest.

On to other stocks at this point. If you like penny stocks and if you like companies that are exploring in the Gulf Coast area, I'd suggest you take a look at Petroquest Energy (PQUE).
