We have a very large weighting in Comm IC's with PMCS, VTSS and UNPH. BTW, processing is indeed complex, but do not blow off the complexity of phy layers. There is a lot of expertise inherent at that layer. Analog to digital/d-a, time synch, pin assignments, defining electrical and optical characteristics and network interfaces, inserting and extracting cells from Sonet frames, error processing etc. In other words, there is a LOT going on! PMC got there foot in the door with the first merchant S/UNI chip (I think it was the PM5345 S/UNI 155) and hasn't looked back. As long as you keep delivering, why would a customer look elsewhere? BD
