Copper Mountain Networks May Double When Trading Starts

Palo Alto, California, May 13 (Bloomberg) -- Copper Mountain
Networks Inc., which makes equipment for high-speed Internet
access over existing copper telephone lines, may more than double
when trading begins.

Market makers in the company's shares are receiving bids as
high as $50 a share. The Palo, Alto California-based company sold
4 million shares at $21 each yesterday, raising $84 million.

Copper Mountain's ''digital subscriber line'' equipment is
used by telecommunications companies that provide high-speed
Internet access such as NorthPoint Communications Group Inc. and
Rhythms NetConnections Inc.

Copper Mountain will trade under the symbol ''CMTN'' on the
Nasdaq Stock Market. Morgan Stanley, Dean Witter & Co. handled
the sale, with assistance from BancBoston Robertson Stephens and
Dain Rauscher Wessels.
