I don't think you're naive but why do you minimize the value of "special knowledge". This doesn't require a degree in theoretical physics or advanced number theory.

Let's you and I sit down to a poker game. I get to have "special knowledge" several times for only a second or two. Who do you think will end up with all the money? Not you.

If we keep abstracting this discussion to infinity and using reductio ad absurdum arguments given enough time everything eventually reaches homeostasis or chaos depending on your viewpoint. Just let me have the "special knowledge" and financial control of Goldman Sachs for a little while so I can beat you at poker before I'm reductio ad dirt.
