Jim, we've argued this before. For some reason you don't want to acknowledge that IBM has not endorsed MOTs Altivec. That is my key point. IBM is emphasizing speed by reducing die size. MOT is adding complexity to the PPC with Altivec. Haven't you wondered why indications are the MOT G4 with Altivec will start in 400 MHz range? And Jim, why isn't you aren't wondering why Nintendo, who's interested in performance that the supposedly superior Altivec tech addresses has chosen IBMs non-Altivec, .18 micron, embedded version of the PPC. It seems to me that Nintendo, who is facing a serious threat with Sony's mips based emotion engine would chose the best performing chip they could get. Why not MOTs Altivec enhanced version? Rich
