ACTV may be takeover target-Businessweek
NEW YORK, May 13 (Reuters) - ACTV Inc., creator of a system that combines television and the Internet, could eventually be taken over by Liberty Media Group, which recently raised its stake in the company, Business Week reports.

ACTV's stock, which in mid-April reached about $21 before closing at $15.94 Thursday, could rise again because Liberty may acquire the company, the magazine's May 24 edition says, citing Southwest Research Partners analyst Anthony Stoss.

Liberty already increased its $5 million stake in ACTV with a $9 million investment in April, and Liberty has the option to own as much as 25 percent, the financial news weekly said.

Stoss told the magazine that media mogul Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. or General Instrument Corp. (GIC - news) could also end up buying the company.

Neither ACTV nor any of the other companies were not immediately available for comment

UNFY - should we hold the stock through earnings? Stock stayed sideways all day until the last half hour. Why is that?

ROIA my choice for the next 'mover'. maybe not tomorrow but there seems to be momentum and interest in this stock IMHO.

Thu May 13 ROIA [external] Radio One shares jump on cash flow increase - at CBS MarketWatch
Wed May 12 ROIA Radio One (a) coverage initiated by BT Alex. Brown, CSFB - Briefing.com
Wed May 12 ROIA Radio One, Inc. Reports Record First Quarter Results - PR Newswire

I also found upgrades around May 5 for ROIA in the YHOO upgrades archives.. so my interest is awakened now.

I found DSET On April 26.. and WGAT and UIHIA on May 5 and I now I like ROIA..I'm sure others found them before me, but that is when I found them. They didn't move right away but a little later on. TERN and EXTR made their way to the top of the watch list and at least I managed to get something out of them. But I did see the potential in the others and I see a pattern emerging with a few of these stocks. What they all had in common was they were looking good and they were before earnings, but eventually their reports were accessible and pretty favorable, WGAT was after earnings.

Then EXTR and TERN.. these are pretty good-looking companies with analyst coverage some of them have earnings and lots of interested investors, cash flow. It took each one a short time to take off and I never did get on either WGAT or DSAT. All of them have now moved nicely. Now if you check out the articles on ROIA, you might see something there as well.

Close to report Date.

That is what usually interests me. Even the few I had on today's list had good earnings and MESG had a nice run up twice already, once from an earnings suprise. You can choose the good ones from the 'junk'.. Just a little extra care and due dilligence. I even remember when we all found TUTS months ago and how we 'adopted' it to our frey, then came COVD and both of them were recently up twice on very positive comments.

or these from today..

LOS ANGELES (May 12) BUSINESS WIRE -May 12, 1999--Brilliant(TM) Digital Entertainment, Inc. (AMEX: BDE; multipathmovies.com ), a
leading interactive entertainment content and tools developer, announced results today for the first quarter ended March 31, 1999.

The point is we don't just take these stocks without researching them and at least trying to see if they might be worth a shot. I'm not to familiar with their trading patterns and BDE was up a point only to give it all back at the end of the session.. go figure.
