A lawsuit against Blizzard for including OpenGL? If 3dfx paid them to only use Glide and they have a contract, maybe. I could see the initial release (in the box) being Glide only and then OpenGL coming out as a patch a month later.

Now, the VE quote was pretty small. Who knows what "3D" effects are really being done in OpenGL. Maybe much more in Glide?

A lawsuit agaisnt Creative Labs for making a Glide wrapper? If they didn't use 3dfx's SDK then there will be less basis. Of course, 3dfx may have the rights to "Glide" and may try to get some sort of payment from Creative Labs. Goes to show how important Glide really is.

On another topic, I installed Q3Test today. Worked fine on my Celeron 300a->450 system with a V3 3000. Not my type of game (not that much into death matches). Everything seemed to look ok except the sky which is butt-ugly. If I were Id, I'd fix that for 16 bit cards and I don't mean their "fast" sky with no textures. The latest drivers didn't have any clipping that I could see.

I've also been installing a ton of gmes that came with the V3, my MX300, and my Logitech Force Feedback steering wheel. Everything runs fine on my V3.

I loaded up Falcon 4.0. Other than the fact that it calls my V3 a "Banshee", it runs fine.

If I were to guess when OEM's would be announced, the earning CC would be a good time.
