Just curious...I missed the start of the SGI buy-out thread??

What started this discussion? anyone have a message number for the start point.. Since I own both SGI and Apple it has got my interest.

I actually thought it would happen a while ago..Then they seemed to be perfect fit, not sure now. Now SGI seems a better fit for HWP..

Whatever happens I do think SGI is in play for a buyout...FWIW

regards
Don

It would make more sense for SGI to focus by selling it's software business to Apple. Combined with Final Cut Pro, Apple would start having more of a high-end digital software library.

Of course, this would likely put off Avid even more. But it is an interesting possibility.

Buying SGI for the software would be too much, unless they could turn around and sell the hardware business to CPQ/HWP somehow.
