the temperatures it operates at and the applications intended not compatible

And your credentials for this judgement are? Dave, I don't even pretend to begin to judge the suitability of this technology versus any other for automotive use, whether eventually for primary power or, as been suggested on this thread based on articles, supplementary electrical power generation. I'll leave that judgement to Delphi.

The risk in this for GLE and Delphi is they won't be able to commercialize the technology for automotive use. The risk for *me* is Delphi and GLE don't come to a contractural agreement. That's where I'll make my guesses.

WUWT

>BLD is speculative......GLE much more so

True. Risk high, potential reward high.

>the temperatures it operates at and the applications intended not compatible

False. The remote generation market is still the intended application and is currently being satisfied by high temperature thermoelectric generators. In addition, the high temperatures (600 - 900 C) of the SOFC are not in any way 'incompatible' with transportation or home co-generation use. (It does present some engineering challenges for passenger car use, but even this should not be ruled out.)

not compatable! i guess thats why general motors has approached gle to tell them there product is not compatable, and to think all this time i thought they were working towards a solution for the sofc fuel cell geez am i ever smart.

Tell us how they are not compatible. You present yourself as know something and having knowledge of the ins and outs of the technology, please, explain why, and in detail

i don't think you have a clue as to what you are talking about dave! to many large corporations involved to think they are all wrong and you are right would be absolutely absurd to say the least. have you ever even seen a fuel cell in the laboratory, looked at all the data compiled on the system, talked to the scientists involved directly, ead their notes, have you dave! all you have to say is one word. NO!
corporations don't hand over millions of bucks to just any one with an idea, they have to be ble to sell it and prove they have something of interest to the party with the bucks. and ballard has already stated the race is over to develop the fuel cell they are now working on making the product affordable. ballard has broken the ground for gle to step into the limelight with general motors.
