Badger,
With all due respect for your welcomed StockMover powers, some credit for this move undoubtedly goes to QNTM's $200m buyback. I would guess that they would like to get a fair bit--and perhaps all of it--done before the spinoff. When they bought stock last year for the ATL buy, they bought a good deal of stock at about this level (20-22), before buying more in the teens. I think the stock represents a better buy here today than it did last July-August. They have probably told whoever they have doing their buying to suck up shares up to some price level, and the stock will levitate to that level whatever it is before backing off.

It would be nice to know how many shares a day they can buy. Are there restrictions on it? Anyone know?
