Henry,

Dow looks overbought here short term...hopefully if it tops off here it wont take
the nasdaq with it...hopes the $$$$ flows back into the techs.

Take IBM and HWP out of the Dow and I believe it would have been negative today. So, it wasn't the cyclicals thing again.

Henry D,

The DOW 30 leads the Market Up from the Bottom and then AMAT leads the Market Down from the Top to complete one Cycle.

At the end of the DOW 30 Ladder is the Top Floor; some say at 11.5 K, others say at 12K. The Aging of the DOW should coincide with the surrendering of the New Market Leadership to the Late Bloomer AMAT.

In the last Bull Market, the AMAT StairCase reached the Top Floor in August of 1997 that enabled the AMAT YoYo Kid to Play the YoYo while making a Trampoline out of his bed from August to October. After that, the Kid hurried Downstairs doing 2 to 4 steps at a time.

In a trading range --- whether in a Day, Month, Year, 2 Years --- AMAT spends it's time more at the Bottom of the Range. The AMAT Short Seller should be Adept in Timing to be able to Sell at the Top while the average Long should be able to Buy at a very very favorable price near the Bottom just by taking his time. Isn't it Perfect when one can only switch from a Bull to a Bear then back to a Bull in a timely way?... taking advantage of the stock's habit of declining more than 50% from the Top every 2 years?

Using Puts and Shorting the Stock cost me a lot of Money in the Past. I am so accustomed of being a Bull that I stumble when doing a Bear Stunt... But knowing myself, I will continue experimenting until I develop a profitable style in Investing the Bear Way as I did the Bull Way!
