Lorenzo, ETrade will update account balances and positions in real-time very soon, they announced that a little while ago.
on the other hand, does Datek give you a Bridge terminal (The Pulse, second only to Bloomberg) for free??
what's the use of an express order entry system without confirmations if you don't have the kind of streaming level II quotes ThePulse/PowerETrade offers FOR FREE?

I am a fed up Etrade customer also . I have just started to move my cash to Datek . So far so good . I am almost reluctant to say when something works well because popular does not necessarily make for good trading . Glad to hear it is working well for you.
