I bought five 5' folding banquet tables at Staples Office Supply,
(5'er's hold the weight of the monitors better) and I really like the banquet tables because they give plenty of leg room and they are relatively inexpensive at $30.

(The leg braces are great for taping up all the cables too!)

Hmmm, never thought of that! I have the same Staples tables now for 8 years, but I went for the longest I could find... of course 8 years ago it was just one 14" monitor and a lot of books and papers (g)

Today on one 8 footer I have one 20" IBM monitor, a 13" t.v. set and my compaq 3060 PC/monitor combo... plus all the books and papers, in even bigger piles (g)

I have several 6 footers and the heavy equipment (HP III-SI and Ricoh copier) are always ON THE END, right over the legs.

When I move up to multi-monitors I'll buy a few of the shorter 5 footers, like you suggest.
