"Badges, Badges, I don't got no badges. I don't got to show you any stinking badges". Hal, If you wont, I will bring attention to an Outer Limits, or is it Off Limits, post since it has raised my eyebrows a little. Check it out or snooze on through but there may be something here. In the 1948 movie (Ampex was around then) by: OUTERLI 8385 of 8394 "Treasure of the Serra Madre", the great Mexican actor "Alfonso Badoyia" uttered these immortal words to Humphry Bogart. "Badges, Badges, I don't got no badges. I don't got to show you and stinking badges". Rent the movie. There's a lesson to be learned from it. Oh, when you insert the VHS tape into the little door on the VCR, remember, whats inside is an Ampex invention that was lost to others. Good Luck. If I may attempt an analysis or translation. When Ampex first acquired Reiter Associates I recall a badge product being offered by the web hosting company. Upon amy recent return to Reiter's web site I see that the badge product is no longer listed as a service or option. While the possibilities are endless regarding the badge product lets say that Reiter Associates and Ampex have developed another version of the internet security certificate or badge as referred to in the post. This would be very big news! The internet security certificate industry is in its infancy. This field is very hot and currently controlled by VRSN and ENTU. Certificates are used in e-commerece and other internet transactions to verify the identity of individuals or companies prior to any transaction or communication. Of course this could be a tall tale from the Outer Limits but I sure did enjoy that show. Best O'Luck! Tom
