Paul, Re: 500 MHz " - NOW LISTED - but NOT available til June - That's the GOOD NEWS !

Didn't someone post on this thread which quote an AMD official
said 500Mhz in Q3 ? June would be a good news if that is true.

Gary

Paul,

If you compare the K6-2 pricing with Celeron pricing, you will see that the pricing is fine. As long as you describe Intel's pricing in the sub-450 MHz as plummeting - I agree with you.

Regarding the 500 MHz part: I take it that it is already shipping to key OEMs (in limited quantities, to be sure)

And we haven't even included the impact of the 400 Mhz notebook part!

Paul,

Your posts remind me of monster truck event ads.

I recommend that everyone read them with a "Monster Truck Announcer" voice:

COMING June 4th, 5th and 6th at the WORCESTER CENTRUM it's MONSTER TRUCK MADNESS, featuring BIGFOOT and MUD like you've NEVER seen it before!!!! AMD is making a DESPERATE ATTEMPT to maintain market share - by SLASHING PRICES ! AMD was simultaneously IMPLODING, with CPU shipments PLUMMETING by 22% and PROFITS turning in to a 128.4 MILLION DOLLAR LOSS ! And the HUMAN BOMB blows himself APART!!!

Do you think people take you seriously?

Kevin

<< Intel's 550 MHz Pentium /// - $820 AVAILABLE NOW !
500 MHz Pentium /// - $528 (Was $563)
450 MHz Pentium /// - $290 >>

Even you've gotta admit...chipzilla's huge profitability still relies on corporate suckers covering their on-the-line arses and paying humongous prices for "Intel Inside" with minuscule (and increasingly less significant) performance differentials. The question is, how long can chipzilla stay on that "one born every minute" perch?
