pat, "all modules aren't the same". my question is whether sdli, unph,lu,nt,fuway (who had over 50% of jds, nd now have about 12% of jds/unph, and therefore know all the technology), pirelli, hitachi
and other japanese techs, all have the capability among them to make the full lines of unph and sdli. right now no one has unph's broad range. but i think phillips and ibm have the key patents and license them, and much of the present methods depend on skill and art. the latter are strong asian capabilities.
that april 15 sdli/glw news release troubles me. i've been told that that's a continuation of a previously announced contract. i see it as no news released as news.

no question both companies are dynamic and worth a lot. i've been trying to figure out when to take some profits and hoping someone could give me a good reason to simply sit back and enjoy more ride.
but now i've decided to sell 1/3 of each position.
